Nigerian Defence Academy NDA Admissions 2024 76th Regular Course – How To Apply

Nigerian Defence Academy NDA Admissions 2024 Screening Test Date and Requirements

  • The screening test will be conducted as phase one of the Post-UTME screening and is scheduled to hold on Saturday 24th May, 2024. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Screening Test Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard size (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Screening Test Centre.
  • The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back.
  • Only successful candidates at the NDA Screening Test will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board (phase 2 of the screening test) following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

Nigerian Defence Academy NDA  Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into the 76th Regular Course at the NDA, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a Nigerian citizen
  2. Be between the ages of 17 and 21 years old
  3. Have a minimum of 5 credits in relevant subjects, including Mathematics and English, at not more than two sittings in WASSCE, NECO, or GCE
  4. Meet the physical and medical requirements set by the NDA
  5. Pass the NDA entrance examination and subsequent interviews
  6. The requirements for various undergraduate Degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website/applications portal. All other information concerning degree courses, eligibility and screening test centers are as contained in the NDA website/applications portal.
  7. Note: Working knowledge of French, Arabic, or Madarin will be an added advantage to applicants.

How To Apply For Nigerian Defence Academy NDA Admissions 2024

The application process for the 76th Regular Course at the NDA is done online at https://www.ndaapplications.net/. Interested candidates should visit the official NDA website and follow the instructions provided. Submission of Applications

  • Applications forms are to be submitted together with the scanned SSCE results online. On submission of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form.

  • Applicant applying for admission into NDA must also apply to the year 2024 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and must select NDA as first choice.
  • Such applicants are expected to sit for the JAMB year 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain a minimum score of 180 for all course except for Engineering courses where candidates must score a minimum of 210

  • Only candidates who obtain the minimum JAMB (UTME) score for NDA will be invited to select a centre and sit for the NDA Screening test. The test will be conducted at various centres across the nation on Saturday 25th May, 2024.
  • Successful candidates from the NDA Screening Test will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) at NDA for detailed medical physical and mental health test following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

Nigerian Defence Academy Admissions Selection Process

The selection process for admission into the NDA involves a written examination, which tests candidates’ knowledge in Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge. Successful candidates will proceed to the next stage, which includes a medical examination and an interview.

Only candidates who meet the required cutoff mark and pass the medical examination will be offered admission into the NDA. It is important to note that the competition for admission into the NDA is usually high, and only the best candidates are selected.

Training at the NDA

Candidates admitted into NDA for Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful
completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA). They will equally earn a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Cadets at the NDA are exposed to various military activities, including drills, weapons handling, physical fitness exercises, and leadership training. They also receive classroom instruction in subjects such as military strategy, international relations, and engineering.

Upon successful completion of the training program, cadets are commissioned as officers into the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, or Nigerian Air Force, depending on their chosen field.
